Portfolio
Specializing in clean, usable websites and interfaces that adhere to web standards, with a strong focus on typography.
Wassel Design focuses on web standards, typography, and usable interfaces. I want my clients to be successful. Really! I do. That's why I believe in the "mom test" philosophy. Using my patient - but non-internet savvy - mother, I test each website to make sure your target market can easily use and understand the site. Confused users equal lost opportunities.
Services
Here's what I deliver:
- Website & Interface Design — Does your website scream “1999!”? I'll design and code you a effective, usable web interface and provide you with templates that adhere strictly to web standards.
- Separate Content & Presentation — Still using the
<font> tag? I'll help you move into 2007 with a new, CSS-based layout.
- Email Template Design & Optimization — Scared Outlook 2007 will break your email newsletter? So am I. I'll clean up the markup and make it bulletproof in all email programs.
- Blog Design & Coding — Blogs are the hip, new thing. Every business needs them to communicate with their customers. My work's been a featured case study by SixApart, creators of the popular blogging software Movable Type.
Web Standards
I've mentioned web standards, but you may still be thinking to yourself, “What exactly are web standards and why would they help me?” Fair question.
The use of web standards create multiple benefits for you:
- Faster page loads with reduced bandwidth bills
- Provides a strong foundation for cross-browser accessibilty
- Better search engine rankings
- Cleaner, easier to maintain markup
- Unified updating of look and feel
